Description
Polkatrax is one of the long-term projects closest to Wolfgang Voigt’s heart. A foundation for a wide range of polka, folk and brass music, the two-fourth meter has always inspired Voigt, who crosses essences, loops and rhythmic borrowings from these styles with techno since the late 80’s. For Voigt, polka’s oom-pah-pah beat corresponds with the bang-bang of the straight techno bass drum in a completely non-ironical way.
