Drummer and composer Tony Williams’ adventurous 1965 album Spring – his second as a leader for Blue Note – found him convening a stellar line-up with saxophonists Wayne Shorter and Sam Rivers, pianist Herbie Hancock, and bassist Gary Peacock.
