Experimental, Tribal … Chyskyyrai, whose real name is Valentina Romanova, comes from Yakutia, the northernmost republic of Siberia. She sings in a variety of traditional vocal techniques, drawing on folk songs, animal imitation but most of all on the ancient mythological epic Olonkho, which has a multitude of archaic delivery styles.
