Olé Coltrane is the last album recorded by Coltrane under the supervision of the Atlantic label and features several musicians who had already collaborated on the ‘Africa/Brass’ album. It is considered to be one of the earliest works of avant-garde jazz, and marks the moment when Coltrane went from being an accessible artist to a more daring and complicated one.
