Description
If you’re going to launch a label, it pays to hit the ground running with your first release. That’s exactly what the people behind Falstaff have done with this impressive debut. It features tracks from longtime pals Max D and Hashman Deejay. The former’s track, “Shoegaze”, continues the Washington D.C producer’s recent trend of delivering tracks that defy easy categorization. This one is a blend of ghetto-tech, deep house and dreamy chords, with cut-up samples of various descriptions riding an urgent groove. Hashman Deejay’s “Samba” is a little more orthodox, sitting somewhere between deep Detroit techno and humid samba house. It’s a thing of rare beauty.
