Industrial … Throbbing Gristle’s Greatest Hits set was both a misnomer and definitive statement. On the face of it a band as obtuse and perverse as Throbbing Gristle shouldn’t have released a ‘greatest hits’ set, how could one compile a whole album of ‘hits’ from a catalogue of scree, minimal aural foolery and animalistic machine-molesting?
